Official: Producers to freeze growth of prices for bread in 2022
MOSCOW, Mar 28 (PRIME) -- Russia’s large producers will impose a moratorium on the increase of bread prices until the end of 2022, the press service of Deputy Prime Minister Viktoria Abramchenko said in a statement on Monday.
“The government already allocated 2.5 billion rubles from the federal budget to stabilize bread prices… It will allow us to launch a moratorium on the increase of bread prices. The producers will be able to freeze prices at the level of the beginning or middle of March 2022 and prevent the prices from growing until the end of the year,” the statement read.
The Industry and Trade Ministry together with the retail chains are to work out zeroing the markup on wheat and rye bread.
The agricultural companies provide the country with main types of foods, and there are no prerequisites for a deficit to emerge.
